Approach

Stephanie’s integrative and collaborating approach allows individuals, couples, and families to openly discuss concerns utilizing a trauma lens. Stephanie’s view of trauma is an unplanned, alteration in a prospective life journey that may hinder the sense of safety, self-worth, identity or engagement in relationships. She helps clients to develop and strengthen coping mechanisms through psychotherapy from a Bowenian approach, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Inner-Child Exploration coupled with experiential sessions, in processing through distressing situations.

Stephanie practices mindfulness under the teachings of Jon Kabat-Zinn. For those who are interested in exploring the mindfulness practice integrated within therapeutic services, Stephanie utilizes the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program. MBSR is a blend of meditation, body awareness, and yoga stretching to explore through practice how the body reacts to neurological stress. MBSR is proven to cope with stress, pain, and the challenges of everyday life; deal with disturbing events with grace and composure; while practicing to be fully present and alive in the moment.
